He started in Jr. High on a practice pad and bell kit, was timpanist in his jh and high school orchestra, in marching/concert bands throughout high school and college, jazz band, steel drum band, member of the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, and some DCI experience.  He has a bachelors degree in Music Education from Midwestern State University (emphasis in percussion) and teaches fulltime in the DFW Area.  Fall 2007, Tahlequah will begin his next exciting position of Graduate Assistant under Dr. Brian West at Texas Christian University.  TCU's percussion program is considered to be one of the top 5 in the country.

Kirk is active as a freelance drummer/percussionist in clubs and churches in the DFW area, mainly Lakepointe Church in Rockwall, TX.  He has been recorded at Verge Music Works (Carrolton, TX, Martin Baird, owner) and Fossil Tracks Recording Studio in Glen Rose, Tx, for local christian artist Gary Brumley (Redeemer Church, Ft. Worth, TX), and is currently recording tracks on a cd project with Curt Coffey of Glen Rose, Tx.

He held the position of Perc. Caption Head/Arr. with the 2004 Bluestars Drum and Bugle Corps, and is now a Perc. Consultant/arr. with Revolution D&BC in 2007. He is available for percussion arrangements and camps/clinics. E-mail him at: tahle@philbrumleyband.com or tahlkrk@hotmail.com for information.

He currently endorses Pro-Mark Sticks, uses Evans Heads exclusively, and plays Zildjian Cymbals and Mapex Drums.
