For nearly all his life, Brian James has been deeply involved in music and ministry. Whether it's playing piano in a Sunday morning church service, singing with the choir, or conducting an orchestra, Brian feels right at home on stage.  

Brian began his musical voyage at age 4 when he began playing the piano.  He soon added other instruments to his repertoire: guitar, trombone, bassoon, and drums. At 9, he joined the worship team at Duncanville Bible Church (later renamed River of Life Church) and participated in school music groups until he graduated from Duncanville High in 1999.

Though he started at the University of Texas at Arlington to pursue a bassoon performance degree, Brian felt God’s calling on his life to pursue worship ministry.  Brian left UTA and transferred to Cedar Valley College and met Dr. Sam Germany, a vocal coach and mentor.  In 2003, Brian transferred to Dallas Baptist University to complete his undergraduate studies.  At DBU, Brian was a member of the University Chorale, Chamber Singers and University Ringers.  Brian graduated in May 2006 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Church Music.  He is currently employed full-time by the university and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Worship Leadership.

Brian is currently serving as Associate Minister of Music at First Baptist Church Duncanville. At DFBC, Brian plays in the church orchestra and sings occasionally. He also directs the Youth Ensemble and leads worship on Wednesday evenings for the youth. Previously, Brian held positions at Peace Lutheran Church in Hurst where he served as Contemporary Music Director and at Park Cities Baptist Church where he sang with the PCBC Choir and Chorale and played in the orchestra. 

Brian has had the opportunity to perform both nationally in Illinois, Wisconsin, Missouri, New York, Florida, and all across Texas and internationally in Japan, England and Scotland.  He has performed with such artists as Larnelle Harris and Madison Greene and in such venues as St. Paul's Cathedral in London, Yorkminster Cathedral in York, England, Carnegie Hall in New York and the White House.  Brian had the opportunity to play with the world music band, IziBongo, at Cornerstone and Lifest in the summer of 2002. 

Brian is a sought after worship leader and has been invited to lead worship at various churches in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
